Coffee and Community

Last week marked the beginning of a new season on the Kauai Coffee farm. The harvest has begun, which means a new crop of Kauai Coffee has started its journey from seed to your cup. Growing Kauai Coffee is truly a labor of love that takes a strong and committed 'ohana to make it possible every year.

Reflection and Growth

For most of us, this year has been a season of constant challenge. Like you, we have had to adapt to a new normal and rise to meet difficulties we never imagined. However, we believe that with every challenge comes the opportunity for reflection and growth. Reflecting on the past few months has made it abundantly clear that our commitment to placing 'ohana at the center of everything we do is what makes Kauai Coffee so special. We believe that caring for our staff and resources in a way that makes our community stronger is our most important work. We are grateful for the opportunities we have had to serve our community through the difficult seasons this year has presented, and are eternally thankful for the support we have received from our customers and 'ohana all over the world in return.

Caring for Community at Home

This year, it has been an honor to partner with local organizations like the North Shore Food Bank on Oahu, Kauai Independent Food Bank, and Y Hata and Company on Kauai to distribute food and resources to those in our community who need it most. In September, the Kauai Independent Food Bank hosted a distribution at our Visitor Center, and Kauai Coffee was able to donate 250 10oz. bags of coffee to our local 'ohana. On the North Shore of Oahu, Kauai Coffee donated 20 cases of coffee to fill more than 1,000 food boxes given out at the monthly distributions.

Responsibility and Sustainability

In the Hawaiian language, the word kuleana means responsibility. We believe that caring for our community and sustainably stewarding our resources is our kuleana. When you buy 100% Kauai Coffee, you are a part of our 'ohana and help us shoulder the responsibilities of caring for our communities near and far. Mahalo for shouldering this kuleana with us. We can't wait to share the next crop of Kauai Coffee with you soon and face whatever challenges and opportunities the next season brings with you on our side.
